What is the Early Childhood Education Foundation?

ELAA established the Early Childhood Education Foundation in 1997 to address concerns that many Victorian families were not accessing preschool due to financial hardship. The foundation provides assistance to supplement the preschool funding the state government provides to enable all children to attend at least one year of preschool.

ELAA believes that all young children and their families should have access to high-quality educational programs, which provide a stimulating, safe and caring environment. These programs aim to promote the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of skills and competencies for children. This is achieved through child centred, professionally supported and play-orientated programs.

The foundation strives to:
 

• Ensure that all children have access to early childhood education services which will enhance their opportunities to succeed in life by providing funds that contribute to attendance fees.
• Develop a program where the community, preschool services, other organisations and the corporate sector assist children to access early childhood educational programs.
