| Good occupational health and safety practices ensure that kindergartens, preschools and childcare centres are safe places for staff, volunteers, parents and other visitors. KPV has extensive expertise with occupational health and safety issues from years of experience as an employer organisation. This has enabled KPV to develop various occupational health and safety education and training resources as well as the capacity to offer occupational health and safety training courses. Children's Services OHS Champions Project KPV was successful in obtaining funding for a three year project to support OH&S in the children's services sector. KPV's project specifically focussed on kindergartens, long day care centres and occasional care centres. The main objectives of the project were to increase the sector's confidence in identifying and managing occupational health and safety risks, improve awareness of occupational health and safety, and develop resources tailored to the sector.  As part of the project, KPV launched the OHS in Early Childhood Services website. This website provides OHS legislation and practical guidance specifically for early childhood services. This information is aimed at preventing injury and illness to employees, contractors, visitors, parents, children and the general public who enter a service. The website has information to help organisations comply with OHS laws and offers free resources that can assist early childhood services manage their OHS needs. Click here to visit.
