Annual Early Years Awards 2010 Annual Early Years Awards have been a great opportunity for communities and agencies to highlight and celebrate the considerable work a wide variety of partnerships have undertaken. This is a chance for organisations, early years services and schools to be recognised and rewarded for exceptional contribution to improving health, learning, development and wellbeing of children from birth to 8 years of age and partnerships approaches.
There are two areas of nomination aligned to the Blueprint for Education and Early Childhood Development priorities.
- Better Access to Early Years Services
Under this category nominations will be required to focus on system improvements that increase access to high quality early years services and/or develop an integrated approach to the learning, health and development of children 0-8 years.
- Partnerships with families and communities
Under this category nominations will be required to focus on building parental capacity to create nurturing home environments and/or creating child and family friendly communities or services.

National Quality Agenda: proposed reforms announcedThe Commonwealth has recently announced a number of proposed reforms to enhance quality in early childhood education and care. The Commonwealth have released a
fact sheet and a
Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS) which outline the proposed reforms.
KPV has produced a short
discussion paper to assist parents and early childhood services to work through the National Quality Agenda.
