 | Sue Roberts President A highly accomplished change and leadership consultant and advisor, Sue has over 18 years experience in management consulting and operational executive management in a diverse range of sectors. With a background as a speech pathologist, Sue is passionate about the value of early childhood education and the social capital driven through the kindergarten system. |
 | Kathy Townley Vice president Kathy is an ardent advocate for quality early childhood education. Currently, Kathy is Chair of the Industrial Relations Reference Group and is a member of the Governance Committee. She is a mother of two young children and is a past committee member and president of her local kindergarten. Kathy held a number of senior managerial positions in the banking industry, and is currently employed as a casual relief primary school teacher. Kathy’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Education and a Master of Business Administration. |
| | George Andreola Treasurer George Andreola is a Corporate Advisor and Chartered Accountant. Currently a Partner of PKF Melbourne and Director of PKF Corporate Advisory Services, George’s client base has included a diverse range of industries including banking and finance, mining, manufacturing, retail, tourism and hospitality, health, IT, automotive and construction. |
 | Pauline Ogden Secretary A family therapist, Pauline has managed a diverse range of early childhood programs for over 25 years. She is currently deputy Chief Executive Officer and Manager of Client Services for bestchance child family care, a family support agency which holds cluster management of 11 kindergartens. Pauline is the chair of KPV’s Cluster Management Reference Group. |
Committee members
 | Jackie Petrie Jackie completed a Diploma of Teaching (Early Childhood) in 1989 and commenced kindergarten teaching. She directed a double unit kindergarten in Williamstown whilst completing a Post Graduate Diploma in Child Health. She now operates a business tutoring young school children in basic literacy, as well as running early learning groups for preschool-aged children. Jackie was on her children’s kindergarten committee of management for four years. |
 | Abbey Howe Abbey is the mother of a three-year-old boy who attends Lady Huntingfield Children's Centre. She has a strong appreciation of the importance to families for high quality children’s services. She is committed to the goal of providing opportunities for all children to experience kindergarten and preschool programs, including children who attend long day care centres. Abbey holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) and a Master of Arts from Monash University; and is currently employed as a policy advisor with the Victorian Government. |
 | Danny Pearson Danny is a director of Hawker Britton where he works with some of Australia's leading corporations. Danny’s prior board experience includes the Melbourne Fringe Festival. Combined with his broad understanding of the Victorian Government's policies and priorities and extensive campaign experience, Danny brings a strong grasp of legislative and political priorities to the KPV Board. Danny is a father of two daughters; the elder commenced kindergarten this year. |
 | Emma Hunt With three young children, two of whom currently attend an early childhood education and care centre, Emma Hunt’s experience underpins her belief in the importance of universal access to kindergarten programs for all children. Working in legal aid and as joint Chief Executive Officer of the Public Interest Law Clearing House gave Emma considerable experience of community sector organisations. She currently works part time as a senior legal policy officer with the Department of Justice. |
 | Kirsten Slifirski Kirsten holds a Bachelor of Arts, Diploma of Education and Master of Arts. She is currently on the early years reference group of the City of Yarra and has been a member of the executive of Boroondara’s kindergarten board since 2005. She has worked closely with the centre’s director on strategic direction and project development. Key projects included the development of a children and family hub, a VicHealth sponsored social inclusion project and an early intervention ICT community capacity building project. Kirsten has a strong commitment to improving access and outcomes for disadvantaged children and families. |
