Welcome to Kindergarten Parents Victoria



National Quality Framework

KPV welcomes the implementation of the National Quality Framework (NQF) which commenced on 1 January 2012. The NQF aims to ensure the provision of high quality early childhood education and care and school aged care services for all Australian children to provide them with the best possible start in life. The NQF encompasses:
  • new national laws and regulations;
  • a National Quality Standard;
  • an assessment and rating system;
  • regulatory authorities in each State and Territory to approve, monitor and assess the quality of services – in Victoria this is the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development
  • a national body with oversight of the new system to ensure a consistent approach - the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA)

KPV promotes quality early childhood education for Victorian children, serving more than 200,000 children and their families. Our membership is made up of over 1200 early education and care providers such as independent kindergartens, cluster managers, long day care services, childcare centres and local governments.

Starting Out Safely – Early Childhood Road Safety Education
In 2012 KPV will be delivering the Starting Out Safely - Early Childhood Road Safety Education project on behalf of VicRoads. The Starting Out Safely Road Safety character is ThingleToodle. He will be visiting funded 4 year old preschool programs throughout Victoria as part of an entertaining road safety education program. For more information click here
