| Professional development grants – nominate your staff or your colleagues Victoria Teachers Credit Union and KPV are providing four Professional Development grants available to those working in the early years sector. The grants are a great opportunity for early childhood professionals to enhance their skills and keep updated on the latest policy developments, such as the Early Years Learning Framework. The grants are divided into two categories with two grants available in each category. KPV’s National Quality Framework Seminar term 4, Friday 11 November KPV has organised a fantastic seminar for early childhood managers and committees of management to explore the National Quality Framework (NQF) on Friday 11 November 2011. Call for Presentations for the 2012 Early Childhood Education Conference The ECE Conference organising committee has announced the call for papers for the 2012 Early Childhood Education Conference, Together we grow – delivering quality. The conference will be held at Caulfield Racecourse in Melbourne on 1 & 2 June, 2012. Submissions are due by Friday 14 October 2011, please click here to download the form. Traffic Safety Education Awards 2011 The Traffic Safety Education (TSE) Awards program recognises the achievements of early childhood professionals and schools in the provision of exemplary traffic safety education. VicRoads Starting Out Safely program is the core traffic safety education program for children under six years of age and a key resource in the VEYLDF. The theme of this year’s Award is ‘Collaborative, Effective and Reflective – TSE and the Victorian Early Years learning and Development Framework.’ Services may apply for the Starting Out Safely Award by submitting one page which describes their traffic safety education program in terms of the principles and outcomes of the VEYLDF. The winner will receive traffic safety education resources (nominated by the centre) to the value of $500 (excl. GST). Applications close 17 October 2011 National Child Protection Week 4 to 11 September To mark National Child Protection Week this week the National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (NAPCAN) has launched their new website Play Your Part which offers resources to help communities, organisations and individuals work together to protect children from neglect and abuse.
