 KPV’s 20th Anniversary celebrations and AGM


KPV is proud to celebrate 20 years of service to young children and their families throughout Victoria.

When: Thursday 15 September 2011, the AGM commences 4pm, 20th Anniversary celebrations commence at 5pm
Where: The Treacy Centre, 126 The Avenue, Parkville

The KPV AGM will commence at 4pm followed by the 20th Anniversary celebrations at 5pm. We are excited to have special guests to help us celebrate, including Brian Nankervis of Rockwiz fame. We would be delighted if KPV members could join us at the AGM and the celebrations afterwards.

Professional development grants – nominate your staff or your colleagues

Victoria Teachers Credit Union and KPV are providing four Professional Development grants available to those working in the early years sector. The grants are a great opportunity for early childhood professionals to enhance their skills and keep updated on the latest policy developments, such as the Early Years Learning Framework.

The grants are divided into two categories with two grants available in each category.

The two categories are:
Category One: Exemplary Practice Grant
Category Two: Qualification Upgrade Grant

KPV’s National Quality Framework Seminar term 4, Friday 11 November

KPV has organised a fantastic seminar for early childhood managers and committees of management to explore the National Quality Framework (NQF) on Friday 11 November 2011. Join Anne Kennedy and Nicole Pilsworth to discuss how the NQF will impact your service.

Call for Presentations for the 2012 Early Childhood Education Conference

The ECE Conference organising committee has announced the call for papers for the 2012 Early Childhood Education Conference, Together we grow – delivering quality.

The conference will be held at Caulfield Racecourse in Melbourne on 1 & 2 June, 2012. Submissions are due by Friday 14 October 2011, please click here to download the form.

Traffic Safety Education Awards 2011

The Traffic Safety Education (TSE) Awards program recognises the achievements of early childhood professionals and schools in the provision of exemplary traffic safety education. VicRoads Starting Out Safely program is the core traffic safety education program for children under six years of age and a key resource in the VEYLDF.

The theme of this year’s Award is ‘Collaborative, Effective and Reflective – TSE and the Victorian Early Years learning and Development Framework.’

Services may apply for the Starting Out Safely Award by submitting one page which describes their traffic safety education program in terms of the principles and outcomes of the VEYLDF. The winner will receive traffic safety education resources (nominated by the centre) to the value of $500 (excl. GST).

National Child Protection Week 4 to 11 September

To mark National Child Protection Week this week the National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (NAPCAN) has launched their new website Play Your Part which offers resources to help communities, organisations and individuals work together to protect children from neglect and abuse.

Centre for Community Child health Professional Development and Training workshops
 

Linking schools and early years – supporting a positive transition to school
workshops are intended for those who support transition to school for children and families, including teachers, transition coordinators, early childhood education and care services (management and educators) and early childhood intervention staff.

Workshops run on 14th October 2011 and 18th – 19th October 2011 from 9.30am – 4.30pm at the Centre for Community Child Health, Kaplan House, 369 Royal Parade Parkville, 3052. Contact the CCCH to find out more, please click here.

$5000 grants for long day care services to prepare for NQF
 

The Australian Government has announced the Long Day Care National Quality Framework Transition Support One-off Grant. This funding will support Long Day Care services in disadvantaged areas to meet the requirements of the National Quality Agenda for Early Childhood Education and Care. Romp and Stomp Fun Day for Children 2011

Join us in celebrating Children’s Week on Wednesday 26 October from 10am to 3pm at Melbourne Museum. Enjoy a full day of fun and educational activities for children 0-5 years from storytelling, singing, music, craft activities and more.
