National Quality Framework
KPV welcomes the implementation of the National Quality Framework (NQF) which commenced on 1 January 2012. The NQF aims to ensure the provision of high quality early childhood education and care and school aged care services for all Australian children to provide them with the best possible start in life. The NQF encompasses:
- new national laws and regulations;
- a National Quality Standard;
- an assessment and rating system;
- regulatory authorities in each State and Territory to approve, monitor and assess the quality of services – in Victoria this is the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development
- a national body with oversight of the new system to ensure a consistent approach - the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA)
