Welcome to Kindergarten Parents Victoria

VECTAA has now been approved by Fair Work Australia

KPV is pleased to advise that the Victorian Early Childhood Teachers and Assistants Agreement 2009 (VECTAA) has now been approved by Fair Work Australia. The Agreement will come into effect from 26 January 2010. To expedite the process Senior Deputy President Kaufman has approved the Agreement without a formal hearing. The support for approval of the VECTAA was overwhelming with over 98% of the votes cast in favour of the Agreement. As a result over 900 work locations now have their wages and conditions regulated by the Agreement. This involves some significant changes that now require implementation. Please access our media release here.

Next Steps:

In the members only section of the KPV website you can access an implementation package that includes a wages implementation kit and frequently asked questions and answers. The information provided includes details of what the changes are and the importance of implementing these changes in a timely manner. There is also a visual calendar showing key dates for implementation.

We encourage you to read through all of this information to assist in your understanding of the Agreement and to ensure that the wages of the teachers, assistants and activity group leaders in your centre are adjusted correctly. Please click here to access the implementation package. Please note you will need to log in with your member details to access this information.

We thank you for your support throughout the process of achieving the Agreement. Should you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact one of the KPV Early Childhood Management or Industrial Relations staff on 9489 3500, or toll free on 1300 730 119.
